The pricing of consigned items is typically a collaborative process between HomeFront Auctions and the you. Factors such as the item’s condition, market value, brand, and demand are taken into account when determining the price.
Following a successful sale, you will receive a detailed settlement report outlining the hammer price for each of your items and a breakdown of the commission. Payment is made promptly and securely, directly into your nominated bank account.
The time it takes to sell consigned items can vary depending on factors like the demand for the item, pricing, and market conditions. Some items may sell quickly, while others may take longer to find the right buyer.
HomeFront Auctions have measures in place to ensure the safety and security of your items. This may include proper storage, insurance coverage, and security protocols to protect against loss, damage, or theft.
We understand that circumstances can change. However, once you have consigned an item and it has been entered into our system, we immediately begin to invest significant time and resources into preparing it for sale. This includes professional photography, in-depth research, expert cataloguing, and marketing the item to our global network of buyers.
For this reason, if you decide to withdraw an item before the auction catalogue is published, a withdrawal fee will be charged. This fee is calculated as 20% of the low auction estimate for the item, plus VAT. This covers the costs incurred in the work we have already completed.
Please note that for the fairness of all bidders and the integrity of the sale, items cannot be withdrawn for any reason once the auction catalogue has been published online and is open for bidding.
